The message Sister Rose wants everyone to keep in mind before she leaves her job as Operations Supervisor for the Mother Teresa Shelter, is to serve our homeless brothers with great compassion.

Her religious order has reassigned her to a new job in Jacksonville, Florida.

When she started her ministry 17 years ago Sister Rose remembers it was in a small facility with a broken floor. Meeting the needs of the homeless was a challenge because many have mental and physical disabilities.

“With God’s grace, I did my best we can’t blame them because depending on what kind of background where they are coming from and that, but thanks God because of something I did for them,” says Sister Rose Madassery.

Sister Rose has grown close with some of the homeless she’s worked with. Many, are not ready to see her go.

Casey Stillions has been a regular at the Mother Teresa Shelter for about six years. He has seen how Sister Rose helps others, the best way she can.

“It ain’t going to be the same without her, not one bit,” says Stillions

Sister Rose says Corpus Christi, will always have a special place in her heart.
