The Gulf Coast Humane Society turned its community room into a dog and cat cafe to relieve shoppers from their Black Friday shopping stress.

Folks were invited to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea along with a donut with the company of these furry friends.

The coffee and tea were provided by Starbucks Coffee and the furniture was provided by the Salvation Army.

“Doing something like this where it’s just a much more relaxed environment allows people to ask the question they may just be a little worried to ask,” said Kristen Bily, Gulf Coast Humane Society public relations and event coordinator.

This event was also a way for the humane society to answer any questions would-be adopters might have.

If you are interested in adoption, “we will sit down and talk with that person and let them know adoption is absolutely possible. You just have to go to your checklist, make sure you have everything you need to make this dog or cats life an amazing one with you,” Bily said.
