UPDATE (5:18 p.m.) : Judge Guy Williams in custody once again. He turned himself in late Friday after his bond related to his May 2018 arrest was revoked. He is currently being held without bail at the Nueces County Jail.

Judge Guy Williams has had another run-in with the law.

On Friday, KRIS 6 News obtained several reports that lay out all the information.

Just after 9 p.m. Thursday, officers arrived at the Island Villa Apartment Homes for a disturbance call.

According to the arrest report, the driver, Guy Williams, smelled strongly of an intoxicating beverage, had red glassy eyes, and spoke with slow, slurred speech.

Williams denied drinking Thursday evening, but when he was asked to take a Field Sobriety Test, he refused. He was then arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

Officers later found three loaded guns in his car, which led to an additional charge of Unlawful Carry of a Weapon.

This is not the judge’s first run-in with law enforcement. In May of 2018, Williams was arrested for Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest.

According to the Texas Attorney General’s Office, Thursday night’s arrest is a violation of bond conditions from his May arrest.

Friday morning, the Attorney General’s Office filed a motion to revoke or increase Williams’ bond, and add new conditions.

Just a few of those conditions include:

  • An ignition device that will require a breathalyzer test from Williams when he starts his vehicle
  • A GPS monitor and an evening to overnight curfew
  • Routine, random urinalysis tests
  • Abstinence from alcohol and drugs
  • Daily alcoholics anonymous meetings for the next 90 days
  • Surrender all firearms and weapons

Williams also has the option to enter an inpatient rehab facility. If so, he must do so within the next week.

Aforementioned motions will have to be decided by a judge. At this time, no hearing has been scheduled.

Friday morning, the Nueces County District Attorney’s Office filed a motion asking to be recused from this case, and requested that the Attorney General’s Office take over the investigation.
