Active and retired military personnel will receive a chance to dine free at many Corpus Christi-area restaurants to thank them for their services.

Veterans Day was on Sunday. It marked the 100th anniversary since the end of World War I. It was originally known as Armistice Day when it started 1919. President Dwight Eisenhower helped change the name to Veterans Day in 1954.
