The Texas Rangers have been called in to investigate a shooting at a toddler’s birthday party in Taft that left four men dead. A fifth person was taken by HALO-flight to Spohn Shoreline and two people are wanted.
Just after 5 p.m., sheriff’s deputies got a call for the shooting at a home on Wilburn Street. Sgt. Nathan Brandley, media communications for DPS, said two families had an argument at a one-year-old’s birthday party that escalated into gunfire.
“There was a lot of people who witnessed this happen,” Brandley said. “Still interviewing eye-witnesses and everybody that was there at the party, trying to piece all the pieces of the puzzle together.”
On Sunday morning, investigators announced they have identified the suspects and made an arrest in connection to the shooting.
