Area businesses still struggling to recover from Hurricane Harvey will be getting some help soon.

Six area chamber of commerce groups announced the “Back to Business” Recovery Concert that will be held next month in Aransas Pass, with the money collected going to local business owners still in the recovery process.

“They’re still hurting. They still need assistance, maybe with small things, like a refrigerator, a portion of the roof or something like that,” Diane Probst with the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce said. “In hurricanes, the likeliness of businesses to survive is a very low percentage. So, we want to keep giving these boosts of not only cash into the hands of businesses during this time but also, that motivation that we care and we’re going the right thing and we’re helping you as best as we can.”

The “Back to Business” Recovery Concert will be held on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 2 and 3 at the Aransas Pass festival grounds. The carnival will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 2, 3 and 4.

On Friday night, Rotel and the Hot Tomatoes, Los Bandoleros and a Derek Spence George Strait Tribute Band will perform.

On Saturday night, Marcos Orozco and Extremo, Los Palominos and La Mafia will perform.

There will be free shuttle buses to the event that will run non-stop. Food trucks will be on hand for eats and drinks. If you have a food truck and would like to be a part of this event, contact the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce at 361-881-1800.

The event is being sponsored by Coastal Bend United which is comprised of Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce, Ingleside Chamber of Commerce, Port Aransas of Chamber of Commerce, Portland Chamber of Commerce Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce.

Money raised will go toward grants that local business owners will be able to apply for beginning on November 1st. Those grants will be awarded before Christmas time.
