Ocean Drive, near Cole Park, will become more pedestrian friendly.
The Corpus Christi City Council voted today to install a “HAWK” traffic signal at Ocean Drive and Del Mar Boulevard.
It will allow people to cross that busy street to get to Cole Park, which is pretty busy. The traffic signal would be right in front of the entrance to the park and amphitheater.
HAWK is a high intensity activated crosswalk. It incorporates technology that’s a lot like the crosswalk built on Leopard Street in front of City Hall.
