Two people were taken to the hospital after being hit by a car while crossing a busy street in a crosswalk.
The call came in just after 6:30 a.m. at Alameda Street and Texan Trail. Officers on scene said a woman was trying to turn left on Alameda St. from Texan Trail. Three people were crossing Alameda in the crosswalk at the time and two were hit by the woman, according to officers on scene. Officials said the pedestrians had the right-of-way.
The victims appeared to have some broken bones, but nothing life-threatening, according to officials. The man and woman were taken to Spohn Shoreline.
Northbound Alameda Street at Texan Trail is currently closed while crews investigate the accident. Traffic is being diverted down Texan Trail.
The driver stayed at the scene and may receive a citation, according to officers. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
