AEP Texas officials are closely monitoring storm activity in the Gulf of Mexico and along the Atlantic Coast.
Their immediate concern is to deal with any impact from the system we have in the Gulf.
AEP crews across the state are on standby in case they’re needed along the Texas Coast.
As for Hurricane Florence, they’ll just have to wait and see.
“That may change in the next 24 hours, we don’t know yet but at this time our crews are holding in place for the storm that will hit us this weekend,” said Omar Lopez, AEP Texas spokesperson.
Lopez says if there are outages, crews will make repairs as quickly as possible.
