The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating an accident that left and 18-year-old Sandia man dead.
According to DPS, a 2000 Dodge Ram truck was driving on Eric Lane, five miles east of Orange Grove on September 1, at about 3:50 a.m. The truck was occupied by two people, the driver, and one passenger, who was riding in the bed of the truck.
DPS says the truck was driving recklessly and the 18-year-old passenger was ejected.
Zackary Ryan Parker, 18, of Sandia was pronounced dead at the scene, DPS said.
According to DPS, the male driver of the truck admitted to drinking alcohol before the accident.
DPS says troopers are continuing to investigate the crash.
