A woman ran a red light Wednesday morning, causing a three-car crash resulting in a major traffic backup.
A woman driving a white SUV was driving south on Ennis Joslin Road when officers on the scene said she ran a red light. The SUV crashed into a black sedan that was taking a left on Ennis Joslin toward Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, and then hit a truck that was stopped at the stop light.
The 60-year-old driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital as a precaution and will be ticketed for causing the accident, according to CCPD officers.
There were no major injuries. Ennis Joslin is a major thoroughfare for students heading to class at the local college. The accident caused major traffic congestion in the area.
Crews were deployed to clean up debris from the roadway after the accident.
