Family members of the 2-year-old boy who died Thursday after falling into a backyard pool are holding a benefit for the boy’s funeral expenses.
The benefit will take place Saturday, August 25, at the Dawg House, 4664 Kostoryz from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
$7 chicken, beans and rice plates will be available for purchase, which includes a drink.
Corpus Christi Police and Emergency Medical crews responded to a call of a drowning at about 1:45 p.m. Thursday on the 3400 block of Brawner Parkway.
2-year-old Jesse Noah Silva reportedly fell into the backyard pool after his father temporarily lost sight of the child, according to police.
Police say medics performed CPR and took the child to Driscoll Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
