2-year-old boy recovering after ATV accident

ROCKPORT — Two-year-old Preston Simpson is currently recovering at Driscoll Children's Hospital after he was injured in an ATV accident Tuesday.

According to the Rockport Police Department, this incident is nothing but a tragic accident.

Preston was on an ATV with his mother when he pressed the accelerator, causing his mother to fall from the vehicle. the toddler then struck a tree injuring his head, little Preston was airlifted via HALO-flight to Driscoll Children's Hospital.

His father spoke to KRIS 6 News on his condition.

"Hopefully, within the next two weeks, he's in a different room and is kind of awake and we're doing physical therapy, but right now he's still in critical condition and we just got to trust God that everything will come together," said Tyson Simpson.

Faith, that’s what Preston's dad says is getting him and his wife through this dark time. He hopes with prayer Preston will be back to that fun loving child he knows and loves.

Simpson said, "We got to do whatever we got to do to get Preston back to where he was before this happened, he needs as much support as he can get, we are there for him 24/7."
