Are you ready for a true cowboy breakfast and a great weekend in Kingsville?

The city of Kingsville is thrilled to announce a benefit country concert to complement the series of fun-filled activities surrounding the 28th annual King Ranch Ranch Hand Breakfast.

We here at KRIS 6 are proud to be the exclusive media sponsor to this year’s event, which will be held Nov. 16-18.

It commences with the lighting of the Christmas tree at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16 at the 1904 Train Depot in historic Kingsville. There will be live music, street dancers and refreshments.

The Ranch Hand Weekend Festival continues from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 with the King Ranch Ranch Hand Breakfast.

The festivities continue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Kingsville around Kleberg Avenue with the Ranch Hand Festival.  There will be live music, mariachis, a two step and line dance competition, car show, an art round up with stem roller prints, a chuck wagon demonstration, the kiddie corral and vendors from across Texas with unique festive and cowboy-themed items.

The King Ranch Saddle shop is located in the middle of the fun and provides a great stop for the family.  Other local shops, such as Two Doves and Blue Quail offer unique handcrafted leather goods and jewelry.

From 6 p.m. to midnight on later that day, a Ranch Hand Country Concert featuring headliner Michael Ray at the J.K. Northway Coliseum.

Ray’s first self-titled album debuted in 2015 and netted him two number one hits with “Kiss You in the Morning” and “Think a Little Less.”  His most recent release is “One that Got Away.”  Another popular song is “Get to You.”  Ticket sale proceeds from this concert will go Brush Country CASA – a non-profit organization that helps abused and neglected children through the court system.  CASA’s are present in every aspect of the children’s lives in order to provide the judge in the case with an accurate account of their situation so that the judge can make a more informed placement decision.

On Sunday, Nov. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Cowboy Church Service and Ranch Rodeo will be at the J.K. Northway Coliseum.  The event will be a day of family fun sponsored by a growing church group in Kingsville.  Among those who will be featured include noted country Christian entertainer Clifton Jansky as part of the fun.

Among the events scheduled include stick horse barrel racing, bouncy bull riding, roping events, goat dressing, goat scramble, bouncy houses, kiddie corral and more!
