The United Chamber of Commerce awarded scholarship money Friday to deserving Coastal Bend students.
Five students received $1,000 each thanks to the Mano A Mano scholarship.
That money is then matched by local schools like Del Mar College, Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Texas A&M Kingsville.
The majority of the recipients are already getting their degrees so this will help them remain in school.
The Mano A Mano scholarship allows recipients to continue pursuing their educational goals in addition to ensuring the Coastal Bend maintains a well-trained, highly motivated workforce.
The Chamber Foundation has issued more than $675,000 in scholarship money thanks to Flint Hills Resources since the program commenced in 2002.
