CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — All this month we've been reporting on the homeless crisis here in Corpus Christi.

In today's special report, we've got the story about a family that's getting their life back together and getting off the streets.

Donnell Brown, a single father of five struggled to provide a roof and food for his children.

Battling drug addiction and getting sent to prison were some of the lowest points of his life.

But with the help of a local homeless shelter, Brown and his family now have a place to call their own.

They've beaten the odds and are doing much better.

"It was very hard. There were days when I would just sit there and cry because I didn't know what I was going to do.

And these guys, these guys right here, they're just so strong. They helped me through everything.” said Brown.

A story about how this family flipped their life around and how one organization helped.
