Free food for the community: Robstown ISD holding a "food drop" today

ROBSTOWN, Texas — Robstown ISD is giving away free food to folks in the community later today.

They're calling it a "food drop."

Students who are volunteering will be giving out bags of packed food items like bread, chips, soda, fresh fruits, and vegetables.

But here's the best part, there are no income requirements and people won't need to show proof they live in Robstown to get a bag.

“We just want to make sure that people are fed and that they're not hungry,” said Nataline Hall, who is a Social Worker with the District.

“We're alleviating some financial strain, so people don't have to go purchase these items to feed their families.”

The food drop is taking place Friday morning at 11 a.m.

It's happening at the Robstown High School football stadium's parking lot.
