Fourth guilty plea in human smuggling attempt

ROBSTOWN, Texas — A fourth person has plead guilty in a human smuggling attempt that left six people dead last summer in Robstown.

32-year-old Mayra Chaver pleaded guilty for helping an immigrant escape from police.

Three others were charged for the crime, including 33-year-old Agustin Gutierrez-Gonzalez,

30-year-old Ivan Puga-Moreno, and 35-year-old Elena Cruz.

It was last June when authorities found a wrecked car in a ditch in Robstown.

six people were found dead and a dozen more were taken to the hospital.

The three men involved in the crime are facing life in prison.

Chaver will also be serving some time for taking part in the incident.

Sentencing is expected on April 22.
