(NBC) – Cardi B is making moves for her fans. She came through gifting at an event in Brooklyn for families in need of cold-weather clothes.
The rap superstar and Bronx-native handed out hundreds of coats and sneakers at a public housing complex in Brooklyn Thursday.
Fans and families waited in line for hours to catch a glimpse of the record-breaking artist, though some went home empty handed after organizers ran out of coats.
The event was put together by friends of Cardi B and a local designer. It was the first time she had been seen in the city since facing charges for a strip club fight in Queens.
Cardi B has exploded onto the rap scene over the past few years. She is the first female rapper to have multiple number-one songs on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and was on Time‘s list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
