CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Nueces County held special hours today at the courthouse for early voting.

Several people showed up to cast their ballots for the Nov. 3 election that is only 16 days away.

Experts say you should try and vote as early as possible to avoid long lines on election day.

And the American Bank Center is a larger venue available for voting.

“I actually have not voted,” voter Ashley Benitez said. “I’ve been registered to vote since I was 18. I’m 31 now. This election is pretty intense.”

Voter Chris Johnson said casting your ballot should be emphasized to every American.

“I think it's very important because a lot of people showed up for the Obama election,” Johnson said. “We need to do so in every election.”

You have until Oct. 30 to vote early.
