What is your age?

45

What is/was your profession? Are you now retired?

I was a small-business owner before running for Congress. I started a local-media company, and before that I was the media pastor at Faith Family Church in Victoria for over a decade.

What relevant experience can you bring to office?

From securing millions of dollars for the expansion of the Port of Corpus Christi, creating a working group to work on the border issues -- highlighting the destructive work of the cartels -- serving our district through the aftermath of (Hurricane) Harvey and now COVID-19, and defending our conservative principles from the sanctity of life, fiscal responsibility, and our 2nd Amendment rights, we’ve accomplished a lot in our first term and would look forward to the opportunity to continue to represent the people of the 27th Congressional District. I would be honored to have your vote.

How have your life experiences prepared you for this position?

A cross-section of experience: father, husband, business owner, ministry and community leader gives me an authentic perspective to represent the people of our district well. I recognize my first task is to listen; to ensure I have an understanding of the variety of needs across our district, and take those stories to Washington to affect policymaking. It has been an honor to serve you for the last two years fighting for faith, family, and freedom.

What problems would you address on your first day in office?

I was honored to help secure much of the funding for the expansion of the Port of Corpus Christi; to help our energy producers here in the U.S. be able to export more oil to serve our economy. Have worked to facilitate trade and economic growth throughout the region.

I have been actively bringing solutions to the situation at the southern border to keep our families and the entire nation safe and secure -- establishing a working group and taking members of Congress to the border themselves to see the reality on the ground -- and working with the White House to see practical solutions implemented.

Protecting the right of those yet to be born continues to be a top priority for me — as well as ensuring Americans' rights of conscience are protected. No American should have their hard-earned tax dollars going pay for an abortion against their will.

What do you see as long-term issues which need to be addressed throughout your time in office?

Good governance is my top priority: Washington is broken. Implement policies that create a more responsive government and ensure a stronger foundation for future generations. Continue to promote economic grown and opportunity for all, ensure energy independence, safe communities and a strong America.

What is local government doing well right now that needs to be expanded further?

Local government is the closest to the people, so, therefore, better positioned to deal with many issues that have a direct impact on the families in our communities. I support a more efficient, limited government that protects the rights of individuals, states and local government to work together with, churches, local businesses and organizations to do what’s best for their communities.
