President Donald Trump claimed Texas' 38 electoral votes Tuesday night, but what contributed to that total is telling.
Williamson and Hays counties, which surround Travis county and Austin, voted Republican in 2016. Those two counties went blue in 2020, but the overwhelming trend in the state Tuesday was from blue to red.
Kenedy, Kleberg and Jim Wells are just some of the counties in Texas that went from voting primarily for Democrats in 2016.
They were joined by several counties along the Rio Grande, contributing to President Donald Trump's Texas win.
