54-year-old Darren McKinstry has been identified as the victim of the shooting on Stacy Ln. on Sunday Jan. 24. McKinstry was shot after an argument escalated between him and a man he knew.

Police are continuing an investigation of a weekend shooting in the 10000 block of Stacy Lane.
Around 2:46 p.m. Sunday, Corpus Christi police responded to a call in the area. When they arrived, they found two men, one dead with gunshot wounds. Investigators said the two men knew each other, and the incident started with an argument that escalated. The suspect was detained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
Police urge anyone who is having a disagreement with someone to leave the person, disengage, and if needed, call the police to de-escalate the situation.
"What I would always recommend, if you're having a disagreement with somebody, leave the residence," Corpus Christi Police Department Lt. Michael Pena said. "Leave the person, disengage yourself from them. if need be, call us, call 9-1-1 call the 886 - 2600, let us come out, let us hopefully diffuse the situation."
No word on what, if any, charges the man will be facing.
