DALLAS, Texas — The State Fair of Texas has been canceled for this year.
But organizers say that some of the programs will go on.
While the fair itself won't happen, efforts are being made to keep some of the most important and rewarding programs for young people.
And that includes the 2020 Livestock Show and Market, which will be held under strict guidelines.
“Given the opportunity to run we are excited, and pleased that we are still going to offer opportunity for these kids that have invested so much time and effort and money into projects,” said Daryl Real of the State Fair of Texas.
The show will be will spread out over 10 days instead of 6 – from Sept. 23 to Oct. 3 – to meet social distancing guidelines.
