CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Several people were able to go to church tonight without getting out of their car.

Last week, Nueces County issued an order restricting any social gatherings of 10 people or more in order to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Several churches have canceled their services since that order was announced.

On Wednesday evening, Solid Rock Church got creative and held a drive in service at its church on the 3000 block of Ayers Street.

Churchgoers pulled into the parking lot, stayed in their cars and tuned into the church's radio station, Inspire Radio, to hear their Pastor Steve Coronado.

There was a pretty good turnout.

Coronado said the service made several people realize they should be more grateful for everything they have.

"As some of the ushers were here getting things ready, I heard one guy say "i miss coming to church". That just touched my heart because the things we take for granted, like going to church and going out to eat as a family at a restaurant. it shows us that everyday, we can find something to be grateful for," Coronado said.
