A second Gregory Portland Independent School District (GPISD) employee has tested positive for COVID-19.
On Friday, three employees of that district were showing symptoms of the virus. In response, the district closed all campuses and facilities.
One employees test came back positive on Saturday and the most recent confirmed employee case was announced today.
"The District will protect the privacy of these employees, and will not be able to provide further information," said their press release, "However, we do extend our sincere support and wish both of these employees a full recovery."
The district reminds the community to follow the orders and guidelines issued by federal, state, county, and local government to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
"We ask our employees, and all in our community, to continue to be diligent in practicing social distancing and staying at home as much as possible (with some exceptions for those required to work outside the home)," said their press release.
The district believes the employees were at Gregory Portland Middle School between March 18 and 20.
