CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A second Corpus Christi Independent School District employee has tested positive for COVID-19.
The district says it was told late Saturday afternoon of the tests results and immediately notified those who could have been exposed.
The district will not release information on employees to respect their privacy.
Of CCISD's 6,000 staff members this is the second positive test. The first person was tested in March and has since recovered from the virus, according to CCISD.
"CCISD continues to encourage all staff, students, and families to follow safety
guidelines, including wearing masks, frequent handwashing, and observing social
distancing," says a press release from CCISD.
District offices are closed until July 6.
