CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — S&J Bakery has been providing delicious pastries in the Annaville area for 24 years.
The bakery, located at 9618 Leonard, has been dishing up their famous kolaches and cinnamon rolls made from old fashioned family recipes.
Siblings Susan Wright and Jason Cox opened their business in 1996. It’s become more than just a place to eat and because of that, they give away all of their leftovers.
"Treat people like family, our customers, we know them and have watched their kids grow up," Cox said.
"We have a lot of people who have been bringing their kids for years. We are blessed. Anything that is left over at the end of the day we donate to either the Women’s Shelter, Charlie’s Place or Catholic Charities. Nothing goes into the trash can. It all goes to the needy."
A group of gentleman known as the Coffee Club has been meeting here every day for 17 years
But the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown a wrench into their schedule.
