CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi-Nueces Public Health District has received confirmation of the 18th death of a Nueces County resident due to COVID-19.
Officials state the deceased is a male patient in his 20s, and was hospitalized in late June.
Officials said his only underlying medical condition was obesity.
This is Nueces County’s youngest resident to have died due to COVID-19.
Public health officials continue to stress the importance of frequent hand-washing; avoiding touching one's nose, eyes, and mouth with unwashed hands; avoiding being around anyone sick; practicing social distance, with at least 6 feet between you and others; and wear a face-covering in public.
