Nueces County records tenth COVID-19 death

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — The Corpus Christi-Nueces Public Health District has received confirmation of the tenth death of a Nueces County resident due to COVID-19.

Officials state the deceased is a female between the age of 60-69 years old and was hospitalized in late-June. Officials said her only underlying medical condition was hypertension.

In the last week, the number of hospitalized persons with COVID-19 has exploded significantly. The news of the tenth death comes hours after officials said multiple nurses were testing COVID-19 positive.
