ROBSTOWN, Texas — As people across the Lone Star State anxiously await their turn for the COVID-19 vaccine, hundreds of Coastal Bend residents are in today to receive their doses.

But remember folks, please be patient.

Our reporter Patrick Johnstone took a time-lapse video while sitting in his car waiting in line for about 5 to 10 minutes to get to the Richard M. Borchard Fairgrounds. It’s taking some time.

Vaccinations were expected to star around noon and continue until about 8 p.m.

Registration for today's testing event opened Sunday and filled up really fast. But registration begins again at 5 p.m. today, Tuesday and Wednesday for clinics being held the next day.

The county says 250 doses will be administered each day until all 4,000 thousand total doses received are given out.

The health district will be vaccinating all eligible people in phase 1-A and phase 1-B regardless of what county they live in.

You can register to get your vaccine at the city’s website here.
