CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Nueces County Health District is conducting its first COVID-19 vaccination drive at the American Bank Center this morning.
Today's vaccine distribution there begins at 8 a.m.
It is for anyone who falls under phase 1a and phase 1b.
There were 250 slots available for pre-registration, but because of a technical issue, the city says more than 250 were able to register.
If you were one of the first 250 to register for the vaccine, you will be able to check-in beginning at 6:30 a.m. to begin receiving your vaccine at 8:00 a.m.
The city says people who registered after the 250 slots were filled received a text message.
If you are registered, you're asked to use the Interstate 37 exit at East Port Avenue. From there, police will guide drivers to the ABC parking lot.
People will only be allowed to begin lining up at 6 a.m.
The city also announced the Corpus Christi Fire Department received 600 vaccines for the Saving Our Seniors initiative.
