Health district, Driscoll will discuss another COVID vaccination site

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The local health district and Driscoll Children’s Hospital will hold a joint news conference later today announcing details about another COVID-19 vaccination site.

The American Bank Center is being set up to offer free vaccinations for eligible Phase 1A & 1B recipients. This vaccination effort led by Driscoll Children’s Hospital is an appointment based walk-in service only at the American Bank Center.

Among the dignitaries set to appear at the press conference include Corpus Christi Mayor Paulette Guajardo, Driscoll Health System president Eric Hammon, Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales, Corpus Christi/Nueces County Public Health Director Annette Rodriguez and Dr. Mary Dale Peterson, executive vice president of the Driscoll Health System.

The press conference will appear here beginning about 2:30 p.m.

And later this afternoon, the city's weekly COVID-19 press conference will be held at City Hall at 5 p.m.
