CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Driscoll Children’s Hospital released a statement Sunday about the number of infants it has tested for COVID-19.

The hospital said 68 infants younger than a year old have tested positive for the virus at its facility from the time frame beginning March 4 and ending July 17.

Only nine of those 68 children were admitted to the facility, and all have since been released.

Driscoll officials also said they have not seen a recent increase in children to the hospital.

The hospital’s announcement comes on the heels of a statement released Saturday afternoon by Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales, who said that 85 infants testing positive for COVID-19 has been calculated since March.
