Del Mar College employee positive for COVID-19; another potentially exposed in separate case

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Del Mar College employee tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating. The employee had reported for work at one of the college facilities where three other employees were potentially contaminated. They have been asked to self-monitor for symptoms.

The school also reported that another DMC employee was notified Tuesday morning of a confirmed exposure to COVID-19 and will be tested. One additional DMC employee has been asked to self-monitor for symptoms in relation to the incident.

The school said no students were reported to have made contact with either of the employees. Areas on campus where the exposures occurred have been disinfected according to the press release.

All College facilities remained closed to the public. Only restricted access for approved employees and designated students is allowed at this time.
