CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Nueces County Health District will host two vaccine clinics on Tuesday, with one taking place at the American Bank Center.

City officials say they expect to administer 500 vaccines on Tuesday.

Those will be part of the 5,000 doses they're expected to receive today.

The American Bank Center will not serve as a permanent vaccine hub but will be used on Tuesday as a way to reach more people needing the vaccine.

Corpus Christi police are putting together a traffic plan for the event.

"They're currently working on the plan in conjunction with the health department and the city to develop a traffic plan to alleviate some of that stress of the traffic that we expect to come in,” Corpus Christi police Lt. Michael Pena said.

Logistics are still being worked out, including where the starting point for the event will be located.
