CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — The Corpus Christi Council has extended the social distancing order another four weeks.
It is an order in place right now that limits gatherings under ten people. The order was issued after cases of the COVID-19 virus was found in Texas last week,
In an interview, Mayor Joe McComb said, "We just want people to really pay attention to this social distancing because that is the key and most effective way to stop the spread. "
That order will now run through April 17, meaning all gatherings should be limited to no more than ten people.
Any violators could face up to a $500 fine and could face 180 days in jail.
