CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Centers for Disease Control has issued new guidance on the use of masks in mass transit situations.

The CDC says it will no longer require mask-wearing in outdoor areas of public transportation.

This includes airports, bus terminals, subway stations and ferries.

However, masks are still required indoors at a transportation hub, regardless of vaccination status.

The CDC says it made the change because of the "lower risk of transmission outdoors."
