Bob Hall Pier has been re-opened to the public.
The pier was closed Wednesday because people were not practicing social distancing while fishing. Nueces Co. Director of Coastal Parks Scott Cross said the pier will remain open as long as people stay a responsible distance away from each other.
He said the Corpus Christi Police Department will again be called to shut it down if social distancing guidelines are not obeyed.
The pier is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The pier closure was prompted by reports of an angler saying he had been exposed to COVID-19. The claim was never verified, but when CCPD went to the pier to investigate the claim, they were alerted to the fact that those using their pier were much closer to each other than they should be according to social distancing guidelines. The pier then was closed.
