CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The city council has approved allowing a Dallas-based firm to fix the fishing pier at Cole Park.
As we reported last week, city staff recommended the Jacobs Engineering Group for the job.
City Manager Peter Zanoni says Jacobs was chosen because of its previous work with the port and its familiarity with local waters.
The pier has been shut down for nearly two years.
As for funding, money from the design portion of the project will come from a bond issue approved by the voters in 2018.
Funding for the design work will be paid through a 2018 bond, while fundin for the repairs still is being worked out.
