CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Police Department may be watching you when and where you least expect it.

They are using cameras at city intersections as another tool for solving crimes and enforcing traffic laws.

Since 2008, small cameras have been placed at dozens of intersections in town.

And, they can be moved to high crime areas if needed.

Police use the cameras to investigate hit-and-runs or vehicle thefts.

They even keep an eye out for speeders.

For example, back in February these cameras helped catch 10 speeders along Ocean Drive.

So how else is the department using these cameras?

We’ll have that full story this evening on KRIS 6 News.
