The Corpus Christi Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle accident on the city’s south side.

Police say the incident happened just before 5 Saturday morning when a man in his 50’s was riding his motorcycle heading northbound on Staples.

A pickup truck on Curtis Clark drive failed to yield the right of way, colliding with the motorcycle.

The victim did not survive his injuries.

Two people were in the truck at the moment of the crash.

Officers say the driver of the truck is 19-years-old.

The identities of the victim and the truck passengers have not yet been released.

Investigators said there is no word yet if the driver of the truck will be facing any charges.

Police say the affected intersection will be closed for some time as officers continue their investigation.
