It was a night for patience Thursday across Region IV as baseball playoffs stretched deep into the night in some places and never finished in others.
Big Sandy claimed a 6-3 triumph over Refugio in Game 2 of their best-of-3 series for the Class 2A Region IV finals at Sweeny. The Wildcats’ victory evened the series at a game apiece, forcing a deciding game that continued late Thursday.
And in the Class 3A Region IV finals in Jourdanton, a lightning storm forced the postponement of the Bishop-Blanco game with a 2-2 deadlock in the seventh inning. The game will resume at that point at noon on Friday.
