Today marks the first day for new City Manager, Peter Zanoni.

He sat down with KRIS 6 on issues he has heard from the community, regarding city streets, development services, public safety and the water system.

Zanoni mentions that one of the biggest plans moving forward is looking over the city’s budget. Checking in with department directors and seeing how they’re focusing their budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1st.

He says his biggest focus short-term, is over-seeing the City of Corpus Christi organization. Making sure it is running at it’s full potential. Whether that be filling vacant jobs, or making changes to departments.

Zanoni’s first meeting as City Manager will be with a few directors within City Hall. He also says the first week and half will be to speak with each City Council member.

Peter Zanoni says he’s excited to be here in Corpus Christi and is looking to gain the trust of all residents. He currently is residing north of Sinton until the rest of his family joins him during Memorial Day Weekend.
