Look who’s making it back to his old high school for graduation this year.
Iconic Texas actor Matthew McConaughey will be a speaker at the graduation ceremonies of his alma mater, Longview High School.
Television station KETK reports that McConaughey’s appearance was announced to the student body by school principal James Brewer on Thursday.
McConaughey’s return is understandable. He’s been actively supporting his school in the last year. And he appeared in Austin when his old school, the Lobos, was honored for its state championship run last season. That title was the school’s first state championship in 81 years.
And it will give him the opportunity to no doubt catch up with a few old friends and maybe even a former teacher or two.
