The Hurricane Harvey recovery process is also underway in the Rockport community.
The Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary have served the community at the shrine and retreat center for years.
Harvey hit that center hard. There are 99 windows at the convent and retreat center that still need to be replaced. Residents there are rallying together to raise funds.
On June 1, volunteers will host a German-style fundraiser at Brewster Street.
Wurstfest will feature live music and even a performance by the New Braunfels Dancers.
