The first witnesses took the stand today in the voter fraud trial of Robstown Utility Board trustee Robert Gonzalez.
6 Investigates first reported this case in 2017.
Gonzalez is accused of having knowledge of how someone voted in a December 2016 election, then sharing that information with someone else.
Under state law, that’s a felony and Gonzalez could receive up to 10 years in prison if he’s convicted.
Two other people charged in connection with this voter fraud case have pleaded guilty.
