The weather also created hazardous conditions with an accident near Alice.
It occurred just north of Alice near Orange Grove around 8 a.m. when an 18-wheeler carrying mangoes flipped on Highway 281.
High winds and heavy rain caused the driver to run off the highway and go into a ditch.
He then over-corrected and that’s what caused him to flip.
As of 11:45 a.m., the left northbound lane of Highway 281 was still closed.
No one was injured and that driver was checked out medics on the scene.
