Freedom Fitness spokesman Jake Garry told KRIS-6 news Freedom Fitness “acquired” the memberships from Flex Fit, but called details beyond that a “private matter.”
Garry said also that that it was not for KRIS-6 News to know whether Freedom Fitness bought – or merely received – Flex Fit member information, which would typically include personally sensitive and protected financial data.
Questions on how many customers are affected and whether Flex Fit members who wish to cancel their new – if unwanted – Freedom Fitness memberships, also were not answered. Instead, Garry instructed Flex Fit members to call or visit the nearest Freedom Fitness location to discuss individual memberships.
“Flex Fitness is no longer in business but Freedom Fitness is serving their members. We look forward to adding them to the Freedom Fitness family,” he said.
