The old Mount Carmel Nursing Home has a new owner.
The Ed Rachal Foundation has taken ownership of the property.
They closed on the deal earlier this week.
Since the building closed on Alameda near Everhart in 2017, there’s been a lot of speculation and concern about what would happen to it.
According to the foundation, the existing structure will be demolished.
Part of the property will be home to a new, larger Ronald McDonald House.
The rest of the property will be available for commercial development.
There’s no timeline on when all this will happen.
Demolition of the existing structure will start as soon as a contractor is found.
